I have found this course thoroughly supportive, interesting and very creative! The year has flown by but I have enjoyed every minute and I recommend this course to anyone wanting to become an MFL teacher.
MFL aerobics was a definite highlight of the course...
I have been really impressed with the level of support that the tutors have given. They really have gone the extra mile to help us through this year. The course is well structured and organised, and I feel that it has given me a good grounding for my first job in September.Thank you!
The course was very well organised and diverse. I felt supported by the tutors throughout the course. I really enjoyed it!
I have thoroughly enjoyed this course! It has been an emotional rollercoaster ride of a year but Helen, Carmen and Elizabeth have made it fun and I have felt supported all the way through from start to finish!
This course is hard work - I will let you know that right now, but it is the most rewarding thing that I have done in my life so far. The time spent in university is fast paced and jam-packed, but you're never bored!! You cover all areas of the subject curriculum and even get the opportunity to learn Italian. The IT sessions are particularly useful as you learn new and exciting ways of using film, PowerPoint and Internet technology to involve students. The time spent in school is really where you spread your wings in terms of becoming a teacher. You get a great deal of support from your University and School Tutors and get every opportunity to improve your teaching practice. The University is known for producing excellent teachers which is particularly useful when going to interviews. Good Uni, great course, have a go!
I really enjoyed this course! It was certainly hard word, but it was also a lot of fun! Helen, Elisabeth and Carmen are great tutors and have plenty of brilliant ideas. A big thank you!!
Quanto e' incredibile questo corso. Le tre donne fortissime erano sempre la per me. si e' divertito molto, anche facendo lo sport - ma questo solo dopo tutto il lavoro duro ;-) valeva la pena, senza dubbio.
It's a great course mainly due to the people running it ; you're in very capable hands and feel that you'll be able to reach your full potential as a teacher. Before I started this course, I was slightly apprehensive about the transition between university-run sessions and school-based practice. Careful planning of the course makes for a seamless transition between these two stages. It's hard workm sure, but it's worth it!Frenchman
Well organised, supportive and a laugh at the same time. LOTS of work, remember it's a marathon so no sprinting, but there is a finish line.
I feel that the course at the University of Bristol has helped me develop fully as a languages teacher. We were very well supported throughout the process, and we had so many opportunities to explore innovative approaches to language-learning, behaviour management, etc. In many ways, we are pushed to get ahead of the game and this is of real value when we are applying for jobs!
I can only echo what everyone has been saying! It is perhaps the hardest thing I have ever done so far but I am so pleased I stuck it out. I have learnt a lot about teaching and I am looking forward to starting a career in education. The time spent in university is fun and the school placements are challenging but so rewarding. I owe a lot to the tutors, Helen, Carmen and Elisabeth who are incredibly supportive and really do guide you. All in all, Bristol uni is the best place to learn to become a MFL teacher - so there!
This is the hardest and most challenging thing I have ever done in my life......But the fact that I am still alive (as is my family!)and still just about sane is testimony to the fantastically supportive tutors.
Carmen, Elisabeth and Helen are wonderful. You really couldn't ask for more supportive tutors. I feel very well prepared for life as a teacher - they share their experiences, ideas and expertise very generously.
It has been eventful! "Get on top of your organisation and time management, or Helen will get on top of you !!!!!" No, jokin apart it has been hard work, but fun and the tutors are there to help you all the way through, which is very re-assuring!
I've been really impressed with this course. The tutors are amazing - they give you lots of innovative and creative ideas for the classroom throughout the year, which in turn encourages you to think of your own imaginative teaching methods. They clearly have so much enthusiasm, passion and energy for MFL teaching. They support you fully through the ups and downs of the year. As a group with tutors and students, it's felt like a great little community and we're all encouraged to learn from each other.
This has been a year of hard work and learning lots of new things. This is an excellent course and the three lovely tutors have supported us all along the way. Getting to spend so much time in school is a real plus and gave me confidence to believe that I could do all of the exciting things that we have been taught along the way. Thank you for a wonderful year!
